Local Radio Station Hot radio was delighted to be invited to warm up the crowds at one of the first Dorset Covid Safe events. The Flix Drive in cinema at Chapelgate took place recently and was supported by the Hot radio team.
The team were privileged to entertain the crowds who were safe in their bubbles inside their cars with the music playing into their car stereos.

The radio presenters entertained the crowds with music and interaction And food and drinks could be ordered and delivered to the cars making it the first event of its kind, even the WC’s had an attendant to sanitise after every useage.
Jo Jones presenter and events manager for Hot Radio organised the teams attendance and commented “ The events went so incredibly well and we were delighted by the turn out and the crowd reaction to the new normal at this inaugural outside event. We are working to bring a new kind of entertainment and events to our listeners and supporters whilst keeping everyone safe in line with current guidelines .”

One special evening event was an Ibiza classics night on the final day of the weekend long event. This was the first of its kind in the country. This was a truly interactive music event hosted by DJ and morning show presenter Mark Rush Palmer hosting. Mark has lived and worked in Ibiza and was a great choice for this nights entertainment. He kept the crowd entertained and covid safe and bought the house down.

One attendee commented after that the last song made her cry because it was so joyful to be out and listening to music again. After the event Mark commented “ it was a real honour to host and DJ for such a unique event. In creating an interactive experience between the DJ and the vehicle occupants it was clear to see that the “new normal” is actually pretty cool if you present it in an engaging and different way. The whole Hot radio team deserve to be very proud of their achievements.

The Hot radio team of presenters have worked tirelessly over the pandemic to bring live radio to the homes of those who need the support maybe those who live alone and have received amazing feedback of how local radio has helped them during this period of time and this event was a showcase of how Hot radio are thinking outside the box.

The station has recently been granted a DAB license and is growing day by day become the second largest station on the South Coast against national stations, this was discovered in 2 segregate independent surveys.
